Charterhouse

Relationship with managers

In any investment we make we expect to be the incumbent management's chosen investor.

We help managers deliver their corporate strategy, through active participation on the companies' boards. We aim to provide management with the incentive and the opportunity to deliver outstanding performance.

The role of the Charterhouse representative on the board is to provide support to the management by being involved in all major decision-making and thereby keeping constantly informed of the challenges the company is facing. Where it is appropriate, we will take a more active role, such as assisting in the definition of the company's strategy, completing acquisitions or arranging additional finance.

We are selective about the investments we make and as such our portfolio of companies comprises a few, relatively large investments. This means that we can and do provide constant and active support.
