Tussauds is a leading operator of leisure attractions with a broad portfolio of attractions. It has strong market positions in two principal divisions; City Centre Attractions and Theme Parks. Assets include world renowned Madame Tussauds waxworks, the London Planetarium and three of the four largest UK theme parks; Alton Towers, Chessington and Thorpe Park.

Charterhouse sold Tussauds to Dubai International Capital in 2005. During its period of ownership, Charterhouse worked with the management team to grow the business, including the expansion of the Madame Tussauds brand internationally in the US and Asia and adding the London Eye in the UK and Heide Park in Germany.

Tussauds now forms part of the Merlin Entertainments Group.
