Charterhouse Capital Partners (“Charterhouse”), one of the longest established private equity firms operating in Europe, today announces that it has completed the acquisition of Animalcare Group (“Animalcare”), following its delisting from the London Stock Exchange (AIM). For more information, please refer to the RNS.
Headquartered in York, United Kingdom, Animalcare Group is an animal healthcare company specialising in the development and commercialisation of products for companion animals, equine and production animals. The Group holds around 150 animal health pharma brands, with core franchises in dental, equine and pain products with a strong presence throughout Europe and the APAC region.
The animal healthcare sector is a resilient and fragmented market supported by attractive long-term structural tailwinds, including increasing pet ownership and owner awareness, broader treatment availability and greater veterinary education. With its differentiated and niche product portfolio, expanding R&D pipeline and proven ability to execute strategic acquisitions, Animalcare is well positioned for continued growth.
The investment aligns closely with Charterhouse's strategy of partnering with high-quality healthcare businesses that have strong market positions and clear opportunities for value creation. Charterhouse will partner with CEO Jennifer Winter and the existing management team to support Animalcare's continued investment in innovation, operational excellence and strategic M&A. Together, they aim to accelerate international expansion, strengthen the company’s product pipeline and deliver sustainable long-term growth.
Haitham Nasri, Partner at Charterhouse Capital Partners, said: "We are delighted that Animalcare Group is joining our portfolio, and to partner with Jennifer, the management team and all of the company's employees. Animalcare Group has built an outstanding platform in an attractive and resilient market, underpinned by differentiated products, strong scientific capabilities and an ambitious growth strategy. We look forward to working closely with the team to support continued investment in innovation, international expansion and strategic acquisitions to realise Animalcare Group’s long-term growth ambitions."
